Admission Arrangements 2019/2020
If you are a parent or carer considering sending your child to Heene Church of England (Aided) Primary School you should first contact the school office to find out about visits to the school and admission arrangements.
Each autumn term the school holds ‘open days’ where you will be able to meet the Head or Deputy Head teacher and have an opportunity to visit. You will be given a tour of the school and its facilities and be able to see classes taking place.
To apply for a place at the school you will need to contact the Admissions Office at Centenary House, Worthing on 03330 142903. The Admissions office deals with admissions for all schools in the area. Heene admits up to 60 children in each year group and is not able to exceed this number.
Our Admissions Arrangements are available to download at the bottom of the page.
If you live outside the catchment area you may still apply for admission to Heene but obtaining a place will depend on how many other applications are made from children within catchment for that intake year.
Before children start school at Heene they are invited to school with their parent or carer for a taster session. We will introduce you and your child to the school building, your child’s teacher and teaching assistant and to familiarise yourselves with the Early years setting.
Since September 2011 parents of Reception aged children have the right to choose whether they wish their child to start school full-time or part-time, subject to the caveat that children are receiving full-time education in the term following their fifth birthday. Parents continue to have the right to defer entry to later in the academic year and, in such cases, a place offered in Reception will be held open for the child for that intake year. If your child is offered a place in Reception at this school we will discuss with you your starting school preference.
