During this period of partial closure this school site continues to be open for provision for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers. Irrespective of any partial closure or collaboration with another school, the safeguarding of all our children remains our top priority. At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this they are asked to make contact with the school office.
EASTER HOLIDAY OPENING – During the school holiday period we will remain open (apart from Good Friday and Easter Monday) for vulnerable children and essential Key Worker children, where they can’t be looked after safely at home. Eligible children in school for these two weeks will be provided with a packed lunch by Chartwells.
Free School Meal Information UPDATE – Thurs 2nd April: The current delivery of FSM hamper food is now in school. Please collect during the times specified in your message yesterday and bring a 'bag for life'. To clarify, this is only for those families entitled to FSM through means testing, not all of the families in EYFS - Y2 who receive a hot meal under the UIFSM offer.
The Government has today announced a centrally funded national FSM voucher scheme, that comes in to effect on Mon 20th April. This scheme will provide FSM eligible children with supermarket vouchers in term time weeks only. In line with usual FSM provision, there is no voucher provision during school holiday periods, including Easter. We are still waiting for details of how this scheme will work and will contact families of eligible children as soon as we have all of the information.
The voucher value is set at £15 per week per FSM child.
Chartwells will continue providing hot Steamplicity meals from 20 April.
If you have any questions at all please ring the school office between 9am and 3pm.
Finally, if any of your children are particularly anxious at the moment I have been sent a very good child friendly document explaining Coronavirus. This can be found in our Coronavirus - useful information - Guidance on supporting children...
There is also a new Home Learning - Photographs tab above. I will be adding photographs to this on a regular basis so send them in!
Hope you are all staying safe. We miss you all.
Welcome to Heene CE (Aided) Primary School
We are a two-form entry primary school in the centre of Worthing and pride ourselves on the happy, welcoming, secure and stimulating environment we provide for all our pupils.
Our website offers a glimpse into life at our school – a caring and supportive community where everyone is encouraged to thrive and reach their potential. You will be able to find out who we all are, what we do and how to find us! It is also a useful way to catch up with all the latest events, newsletters and useful information for parents.
However, the best way to find out about us is to come and see for yourself. We welcome visits from all families and would be delighted to show you around. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you for visiting!
Mrs Jo MacGovern
Our new Heene Parking wardens have arrived!!
ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS
In an effort to improve the safety of our children on Norfolk Street, FOHPS have funded the purchase of our family of Parking wardens.
There has been lots of positive feedback since there arrival last week, and at the moment it does seem to have deterred parents from double parking or pulling over on the zigzags directly infront of the school but unfortunately these problems are now occurring further down Norfolk Street, please do not obstruct Victoria Park Gardens or park on the double yellow lines on that corner, it does make it very difficult for pedestrians to cross safely.
Please play your part to keep everyone safe!
