Religious Education (RE) Curriculum Statement

Religious Education provokes challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong and what is means to be human.  At Heene Primary School we develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Christianity, the main faiths of the children within our school and other major religions or world views that offer answers to ‘Big Questions’.  When exploring these questions, our children are taught to be curious, inquisitive, reflective and expressive, while respecting the rights, needs and beliefs of others.

Our children are encouraged to develop their own spiritual understanding and growth and to apply what they learn to enhance the lives of themselves, their families and the wider community.

Through our creative, enquiry based learning in RE, our children are given key skills and knowledge to promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
