Collective Worship Curriculum Statement

Believing that we are all children of God, we aim to create an atmosphere of contemplation, caring and respect for each other’s differences during our daily act of collective worship.  It is time to reflect, sing and pray; think, share and communicate our feelings with one another and with God.

They also follow SEAL themes of: ‘New Beginnings’, ‘Getting on and Falling out’, ‘Going for Goals’, ‘Good to be me’, ‘Relationships’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Leaving and moving on’.


The Collective Worship Committee, comprises of the Headteacher, RE Subject Leader and Clergy from St Matthews.  Together they plan the 2-yearly cycle. 

Parents are invited to attend their year group’s celebration assembly twice a year.  Parents and children can attend the local church at the end of every half term where a KS1 and a KS2 year group take the lead for the service.

**All children take part in our daily act of Collective Worship unless their parents inform us in writing that they want their child to be withdrawn according to their own religious beliefs.
